Prepare for the best results

Here are some important things to make sure the procedure and the healing process goes smoothly and quickly to give the best results.

4 weeks before or longer…

  • Avoid Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, facials or micro needling for 4 weeks prior to appointment.

  • Do not have any Botox, fillers or cosmetic work done to the face for 4 weeks prior to the appointment. If you regularly receive injections, you can safely resume after your procedure but consult with your practitioner to follow their recommendations.

  • Retin-A cannot be used during the 4 weeks prior to the appointment. Also avoid applying to the procedure area afterwards. This changes the skin renewal process and can cause the results to look faded, blurred or splotchy.

2 weeks before…

  • Do not apply any AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) products on or around the procedure area for 2 weeks prior. Do apply to area after.

  • No brow waxing, tinting, plucking or threading for at least 1 week before. If it possible to wait longer than that is better, the more hair there, the better!

  • Avoid tanning and sun one week prior to procedure- It is important that inflammation to the area is minimized to avoid extra trauma to the skin.

A few days before…

  • Do not take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, Fish oil, or ibuprofen/Advil at least 48 hours before the procedure unless prescribed by your doctor. If it is prescribed, please do not stop unless directed to do so by your doctor.— These can cause the blood to thin which will increase the chance of bleeding.

  • Avoid prenatal vitamins, multivitamins, nutritional shakes or meal supplements for 48 hours before the procedure. These may have ingredients that change the healing process or can increase the chance of bleeding.

  • No alcohol or caffeine 36 hours before the procedure (This includes tea, sodas, pre-workout, and even decaf coffee) Caffeine constricts your blood vessels and can heighten sensitivity to pain.

  • Do not work out 24 hours before the procedure.
